The conference proceedings have appeared as volume 5011 of Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. The volume is also available online.

In keeping with the high standard of the ANTS Proceedings, each submitted paper was carefully reviewed by at least two experts external to the Program Committee. The Committee decided on acceptance or rejection on the basis of the reviewers' recommendations. Authors of accepted papers will present their work at the conference.

Selfridge Prize in Computational Number Theory

Once again, the Number Theory Foundation graciously agreed to sponsor the Selfridge Prize in Computational Number Theory, which is awarded to those individuals who have authored the best paper accepted for presentation at ANTS and publication in the proceedings, as selected by the ANTS Program Committee.

The winners received a cash award certificate presented at ANTS VIII. This year, each of the winning authors also received a gift book certificate from Springer and a research book from A K Peters Publishers.

The winner of the ANTS-VIII Selfridge Prize in Computational Number Theory is the paper Computing Hilbert Class Field Polynomials by Juliana Belding, Reinier Bröker, Andreas Enge and Kristin Lauter. Congratulations to the four authors on a very fine paper.
