The conference takes place at the University of Kaiserslautern. The university is located in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Getting to Kaiserslautern
The closest (civilian) airport to Kaiserslautern is Frankfurt Airport (airport code FRA). It is the 3rd busiest airport in Europe and receives nonstop flights from every major airport on the globe (excluding Australia).
The easiest way to get to Kaiserslautern from Frankfurt Airport is via train, which runs roughly every 60 minutes, the latest train leaving around 10pm. The departure station is "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf" (Frankfurt Airport long-distance station) and the destination is "Kaiserslautern Hbf" (Kaiserslautern main station). The train takes around 90 minutes. Since there are no direct trains to Kaiserslautern, you will have to switch trains in Mannheim main station (at least 15 minutes transfer time). The tickets can be booked in advance at bahn.com or at the airport (ticket vending machine or service point of Deutsche Bahn). Note: Frankfurt Airport has two train stations. Be sure to go to the long-distance train station. The airport is well signposted in German as well as in English. A video of the way to the train station can also be found here.
If you know what you are doing, you can fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, transfer to Gare de l'Est and take a TGV to Frankfurt am Main (Kaiserslautern main station is a stopover). The train will take 150 minutes to Kaiserslautern.

Visa requirements
Travelers from many countries do not need a visa to enter Germany for a short trip. These travelers who do need visas should contact their local German embassy or consulate. If you need a letter of invitation, please contact the organizing committee.

For getting around in Kaiserslautern there are two options:
Walking: Kaiserslautern is a relatively small town. The train station is only a few minutes away from the city center; the university as well as the hotels are also in walking distance of the train station.
Bus: Kaiserslautern has a well developed city bus network, which one can use to get from the hotel or the city center to the university (and vice versa). The line 105 is going to the university every 30 minutes. Possible bus stops for hopping on line 105 are "Rathaus" (city center), "Hauptbahnhof" (near B&B) or "Zollamstraße" (near Zollamt Hotel). You need to leave the bus at "Uni-Ost". If you want to go back to your hotel or the city center, enter line 105 at "Uni-Ost" (in the other direction!) and leave for example at "Pfaffenbergstraße" (near the Zollamt Hotel), "Hauptbahnhof" (near B&B) or "Rathaus" (city center).
